Mount Nebo revisited

If any bride wants to run away for a small intimate ceremony, I will follow you to Mount Nebo.

I spent the vast majority of our 48 hours in the Ozarks, err, on the edge of the Ozarks, saying, “Ryan, Ryan! Wouldn’t this light look pretty.. and and here, we could have the couple here.. and and we could go along this spot during this time of day, then hit up that spot at that time of day.” I am of want for more geographical variance apparently.

I woke up January 1st around 8am and walked straight out of the cabin with my camera in tow. Most of these photos were taken within the next, oh, ten minutes. That’s as long as I could stand the 20 degree weather. What?! I’m a Louisiana girl.

I’m sorry, I can’t look at this photo without thinking, “Sorry, but a toll is a toll, and a roll is a roll, and if we don’t get no tolls, then we don’t eat no rolls.” Thank you, Mel Brooks.

lists, lists, lists

For the past three years, Ryan, my husband, has been hearing me spit ball ideas for our life, our businesses, our marriage, politics, state taxes, art, God, and coffee. (Okay, we don’t REALLY talk about coffee outside of my great desire for it.) I appreciate him. So very much. I just needed to throw that out into the internet-arena.

I appreciate the emails I’ve been receiving. You have so many kind words, and some humbling criticisms to share. Thanks, and thanks again.

A lofty goal for this year: blog every-darn-thing I shoot.

My blog workings have been mostly behind the scene lately. What does that mean? Well, you’ll see soon. Over our travels, with my incurred internet-less-ness, I photographed a wedding, jotted down ideas, sketched, read, creatively recharged. And after two weeks of being AWOL, we’re back in our home. Oh, home sweet, home. Our cats have noticed no difference in quality-of-life and are apathetic per usual. Ryan and me? Oh so refreshed.

Zack and Kristen

After a week in New Orleans full of Christmas family fun and the French Quarter, Ryan and I made our way to Jackson, MS to shoot Zack and Kristen’s wedding this past Sunday. We are home for less than 48 hours before making our way to the Ozarks to ring in the new year. Alas, I am unable to make a full blog post of this wedding this week. But I didn’t want to leave you without a glimpse into this beautiful December day.
